چکیده
To address the inter-connected climate and biodiversity crises, it is crucial to understand how multifunctional urban green infrastructure (UGI) perceived contribute carbon neutrality, biodiversity, human well-being, justice outcomes in cities. We explore residents, including youth, associate carbon-related meanings with UGI these relate co-benefits broader sustainability outcomes. Financing Green Urban Infrastructure
This paper presents an overview of practices and challenges related to financing green sustainable cities. Cities are essential actors in stimulating green infrastructure; and urban finance is one of the promising ways in which this can be achieved. Cities are key investors in infrastructure with green potential, such as buildings, transport, water and waste. Their main revenue sources, such as...
متن کاملEnvisioning Smart Building Botnets
A building automation system (BAS) is the IT equipment within a building that monitors and controls the building (e.g., measuring temperature in a room to configure the heating level within the same room). We discuss the potential and the use of botnets in the context of BAS. Our botnet concept and scenario is novel in the sense that it takes advantage of the phyiscal capabilities of a building...
متن کاملAir temperature regulation by urban trees and green infrastructure
A well-known effect of urbanisation is the warming of the local climate relative to surrounding rural areas, creating a phenomenon known as the ‘urban heat island’ (UHI). UHI intensity varies across a city and over time, but temperature differences may reach 9 °C in the UK. Factors that contribute to a UHI include the thermal properties, height and spacing of buildings, the production of waste ...
متن کاملSensonomy: Envisioning folksonomic urban sensing
Sensing urban environment with covering extensive area in a precise quality is important issue for sensor network approaches. This paper describes a system called “Parasitic Ambient Logger” which is attachable to mobile devices in order to sense ambient air environment. Unlike the conventional sensor network approaches, the system can build environmental sensing infrastructure in a cost effecti...
